Support to the Development Path Concept: Reception for the Former MMA’s Heads

Belgrade, March 01, 2011. – On the occasion of the forthcoming celebration of 167th birthday, the traditional reception for the former MMA’s heads was hosted at the Military Medical Academy. Addressing the guests and distinguished precursors, former MMA’s head Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtić said the MMA was an institution viewed as great not only for its outstanding achievements in the spheres of treatment, education and science, but for its approach towards its past. ‘’Actions of those involved in its creation, and particularly of those who as its leaders were the most responsible for the continuation and development of our MMA, are incorporated into the motives and actions of our contemporaries, and has been the source of our creative power even in the most difficult times. Thanks to that, we’ve won all the battles, and once again have become recognizable leaders in many fields of medical profession and science’’, General Jevtić said.
Colonel Prof. Dr. Marjan Novaković, a newly appointed head of the Military Medical Academy thanked his precursors for their support, and stressed that their deeds had imposed a strong obligation upon all those who managed and operated this institution, as well as its members to follow the paths of its further development in line with the highest values of medical profession and science. ‘The history of the Military Medical Academy is long and rich, and full of lessons we can learn from in the future. You have created that history and bestowed this medical city on us to continue to further develop and advance it according to the imperatives of our time. It is an enormous responsibility and obligation’’, Col. Prof. Dr. Marjan Novaković said.
During the discussions, former heads showed their great interest in the MMA’s achieved results and accomplishments, and expressed their satisfaction with its overall development and progress, and wishes as well for its further advancement Retired Generals Prof. Dr. Mihajlo Đuknić, Prof. Dr. Aco Jovičić, and Prof. Dr. Momčilo Krgović were officially presented with the first issues of the Monograph titled ‘’The MMA: A Man in the Service of Humanity, Health and Homeland’’.
